Alternate Wetting and Drying as Water-Saving Technology: An Adoption Intention in the Perspective of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) Suburban Rice Farmers in Thailand

The alternate wetting and drying (AWD) as water-saving technology aligns with the good agricultural practices (GAP) principles, particularly in environmental management of water conservation. Thus, GAP adopters farmer groups are seen viable AWD initial stages scaling out adoption Thailand. However, understanding integrating among remains scant. Using case rice farmers Thailand, study found a higher probability intention compared to non-GAP. perceived advantage, knowledge, suitability farms for trials positively associated intention. While fixed cost lowers adoption, variable is short-run production decision. In order scale AWD, farmers’ safe proper application together assistance crop insurance failure, will be crucial. Risks connected decision continue biggest barrier especially small-scale farmers.
